Meet the Leaders

What made you join FM?

I joined in January 2016, with a friend our plan was to get fit and a run a marathon, we used to walk/run once a week together, then we saw an advert in the local paper for a Fitmums club and decided new year, new 2017 I had a major operation and had to stop running, when I got back into Fitmums I joined the walking group and found a new passion and not looked back since.

What was your original goal?

I have completed the dove house wine dash in 2021 which was 18.5 miles walking...

5 Hell on the Humber challenges (which is walk as many times over and back on the Humber Bridge in a timed amount of hours) My best time/miles was 20 miles in 6hrs!

What else have you done?

I have taken part in fitmums challenges...I walked a minimum of 10,000 steps per day, whatever the weather! Also have completed a couple of Race for Life, Race for Life Pretty Muddy, Dove House Starlight Strides, Dove House midnight walks and 1,000 miles in a year challenges over the years.

What are you planning for next year?

I'm planning on doing the dove house wine dash again this year...and any other mad challenge that may present itself.

What would you tell someone who was thinking about joining FM?    

Just pop and see what we are about, decide to have a mini walk with us and you will be surprised how far, you can walk, when you are chatting away with like minded people... if you need a friendly face to walk through the door with, then I will be there to open the door for you.... and we can have a cuppa afterwards.
