The Fitmums & Friends Inter-generational Choir will be meeting again this year to prepare for and host a concert at the Civic Hall in Cottingham on Saturday 22 March.
This annual event is much loved by members and friends of Fitmums & Friends alike. It was originally created as a way of lifting spirits during the dark and dreary winter months, running from January to March each year. It gives people something to look forward to, and ends just as Spring arrives. After that first concert in 2014, it has simply never stopped - becoming a much loved feature of the Fitmums & Friends calendar.
The Choir is open to non members as well as members. We are a truly inter-generational bunch of people who come together for just 10 weeks, with the challenge of putting on a performance at the end - to raise funds for the charity. Normally involved in walking, running and cycling, this is a different challenge but one that brings enormous health benefits too. We love the fact that we can say we run, we walk, we cycle and we SING!
Everyone is welcome to take part - no need to be a Fitmums & Friends member.
We meet to rehearse each Sunday from 4pm to 5.30pm for 10 weeks leading up to the performance on Saturday 22 March. Dates are as follows:
If you would like to be a part of the choir, please register your interest here.
There is a cost to take part due to venue hire and other costs incurred. If this would prevent you taking part, please contact us as the Mike Barlow Memorial Fund may be able to help.
The performance is on Saturday 22 March. Doors open at 6pm and the concert starts at 6.30pm. Choir Lead, Jack Bridges, will be taking the Choir through a wonderful variety of songs which we hope will lift spirits.
There will be a raffle and (amazing) cake stall on the night so bring some cash if you would like to enjoy either of these. There will also be tea, coffee and a licenced bar.
