Fitmums and Friends made it to Westminster this month. An invitation to present to the cross parliamentary group on running meant that Founder Sam Barlow found herself in the exciting, if not slightly daunting position of explaining the impact of Fitmums and Friends to MP's from all parties.
The day started off with an early morning run, taking in some of the London highlights. MP's Kim Leadbeater and the Rt Hon Alun Cairns were interested to hear about the far reaching impact of Fitmums and Friends in supporting health and well-being through a considerable volunteer network.
At a lunchtime presentation Sam joined speakers from MIND and England Athletics to explain how the work of the charity supports positive mental wellbeing. It was a fantastic opportunity to fly the flag for the good work going on in the Fitmums and Friends communities across Yorkshire.
