Mike Barlow, Fitmums and Friends coach, passed away in October 2020. Mike's passion was coaching and supporting people to become active and to reap the benefits of exercise.
In honour of Mike's memory, the Barlow family and Fitmums & Friends are proud to launch the Mike Barlow Memorial Fund.
Mike's son Ollie is launching the fund by taking on his own personal challenge very close to his heart - details of this are here.
Ollie said of the fund: "It will be a way of continuing my dad’s support of people to use activity to help them in life. It is the perfect personification of his legacy and the impact he had on the world".
The fund will aim to offer help to anyone who may struggle to ordinarily access support to be active. This will include help to buy a junior or adult membership, a piece of kit, or funding a training course such as Leader in Running Fitness (LIRF). The aim is to ensure financial hardship is not a barrier to people taking part in activity with or volunteering for Fitmums and Friends.
If you wish to donate to the fund or to sponsor Ollie in his challenge, please see here.
Full details of the fund and guidance on application will be released in due course.
