Will you join us to see where in the world we can run/walk to when we all work together?
Today we are launching our first Pave the Way Challenge – a virtual run and walk. The idea is to count up how many running/walking miles Fitmums & Friends members can achieve over the next three weeks and see how far that takes us. And by doing so, help us feel connected and motivated while we are currently separated.
We will start by aiming to reach Exeter in Devon, 304 miles from Hull. Exeter is the county city of our very fabulous patron, Jo Pavey (world, European and Commonwealth medallist and five-time Olympian), so that seems like a very fitting first destination. After reaching Exeter, we’ll head overseas, aiming for other Fitmums-relevant destinations. Can we reach the Eatons in Western Massachusetts, USA? Or Hedon Fitmums & Friends member, Darren, on his ship somewhere off Australia? Or Janine, a Boothferry member who lives in Wellington, New Zealand? Could we even make it all the way around the world – a distance of 24,901 miles?!
To take part, all you need to do is run or walk as usual and then email evidence of that day's mile(s) to david@fitmums.org.uk. Then watch out for the updates on our Fitmums & Friends Challenges Facebook page showing where we have reached. The challenge will finish on Sunday 28 June when we will announce how far we have run and walked together and our final destination.
Don’t forget that every mile you achieve to help us get to Exeter and beyond will also help your personal progress towards your Mumbot Milestones pin badge.
Let’s go!
