The Triple Challenge

Posted 4th May 2020

On this special VE day commemoration weekend, we have something different to keep you active but connected. Come and join us for the Virtual Triple Challenge of Pilates, Strength & Conditioning and Yoga.

These sessions will run one after the other via Zoom, facilitated by our fabulous Fitmums and Friends Coaches – Claire & Neil. You can take on the whole challenge or if you wish join for a segment of it.

We have had some amazing numbers turning out to our weekly Zoom sessions and this weekend we’d like to try and see a record number of people taking part. Together we can enjoy being active, whilst remembering our fallen heroes of World War 2.  The session starts at 11am Saturday 9th May and will finish around 12.30pm.

The challenge starts with Pilates, a form of low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility. Pilates moves tend to target the core, although the exercises work other areas of your body as well.

Next up is Strength & Conditioning which will include a 10-minute cardio blast to get your heart pumping and 5 exercises targeting key running muscles.

Finally, Yoga which helps make the body strong and flexible, it also improves the functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and hormonal systems. Yoga can help with emotional stability and clarity of mind. As this yoga practise takes place at the end of the Triple Challenge it will be a restorative session with relaxation – a lovely way to end our activity challenge together.

The Coaches will encourage you to work at your own level - so this is very individualised.  If you need a break at any time then just take it.  All you need is some space either in your home or in the garden. Don’t worry if you don’t have a mat, just have a blanket/rug to hand for the pilates/yoga sessions. Make sure you have a bottle of water nearby and your whole household is welcome to take part too.

To get into this session use the link sent in email (check junk box if not obvious).

As we connect to the VE day commemorations we’d invite you to think about making a donation to the Royal British Legion if you wish.  See here

If you are unsure about how to connect to a Zoom session please see these step by step instructions here

We really hope you and your household might join us.
