We are recruiting - Bereavement Support Facilitator

Posted 11th August 2022

We welcome applications to join a dynamic and supportive team delivering programmes as part of a child bereavement project.

ROLE:  Bereavement Support Facilitator

PAY: £30 per hour (Approx 20 hours per programme)

DAY/TIME: 4 consecutive Saturdays per programme

The Forest Project offers alternative bereavement support for children and young people (6-17 years) based in a Forest School setting.  We are seeking applicants to join this team in the role of Bereavement Support Facilitators.

Forest activities include den building, camp fire cooking, tool making, tree climbing, and rope work. These provide a perfect focus for children who may find a traditional group discussion intimidating. Age-appropriate writing activities will also be part of the programme delivered by the research team. This may involve the participants reading existing literary texts or developing their own, in order to help them explore their loss. The Bereavement Support Facilitators will manage bereavement discussions throughout the programme and ensure appropriate therapeutic support.

If you are interested please see the Role Description for further details.

 Closing date: 21st August 2022.
