virtual sessions - November/December timetable

Posted 6th November 2020

UPDATE Monday 30 November: We are pleased to confirm that this timetable for our virtual activity sessions is extended until Wednesday 23 December.

For the next four weeks (from Monday 9 November to Saturday 5 December), we will be offering additional virtual activity sessions to help you stay active and connected during this second lockdown. Each week, we will run two fitness sessions, one strength session and a family fitness session, as well as two pilates sessions and two yoga sessions.

The sessions are led by our trained and qualified coaches and instructors. The sessions will be delivered live via Zoom, and streamed to Facebook Live (closed group) either during the session or soon after, then later uploaded to YouTube as an unlisted item (private video, only viewable by link). This means you can replay the sessions at a time to suit you if you cannot join them live – more about that below. Each session combines the workout and a chance to connect with other members, all in the comfort of your home.

The virtual sessions timetable will be:

Monday 6.30pm: Pilates with Coach Claire

Tuesday 12.15pm: fitness with Coach Neil

Tuesday 7pm: yoga with Emma

Wednesday 7pm: Pilates with Coach Claire

Thursday 7.10pm: HIIT with Coach Neil

Thursday 7.30pm: strength with Coach Neil

Saturday 11.00am: family fitness with Coach Neil

Sunday 4.30pm: yoga with Emma

Tech

To access the sessions, you need to join our private “Virtual Sessions” Facebook group – every Sunday, we post the Zoom links and passwords required to access each session in this group. If you are not a Facebook user, please email Vickie on admin@fitmums.org.uk to ask to receive the weekly list by email.

If you don’t like the idea of appearing on screen or you don’t want to appear in the recorded version, you can choose to disable the video feature. You will still be able to see and hear the coach, but only your name will appear on the screen instead of your picture. If you need guidance on how to use Zoom, please read our step-by-step guide here.

Membership

If you are not a current Fitmums & Friends member and would like to access these sessions, then our virtual membership is perfect for you. A one-off payment of £21 will give you access to all our virtual activity sessions this membership year. Top-up to full membership is available for anyone local to a Fitmums & Friends club who wants to attend club sessions at a later date.

To join as a virtual member, please register on our website. Visit https://fitmums.org.uk/register and fill in your details. For “Membership type”, choose “Senior (second club)” and you will see the cost appear as £21 per year. For “Primary club name”, please enter “virtual sessions”.

If you have any queries, please contact Vickie on admin@fitmums.org.uk

Caution

As ever, please work at your own level during the virtual sessions – the coaches will give different options to work at, so please pick what is right for you. Unlike face-to-face sessions, coaches cannot check personal health status. We therefore recommend that these sessions are suitable for people in good physical condition who feel able to participate in the sessions. We strongly recommend that you consult with a health professional before beginning any exercise programme if this is a new activity.

Stay healthy!
