We encourage all first time attendees to come and try us out up to three times before deciding if we are the right Club for you. You can register for a trial using this link here. If you like what you see then you are welcome to become a member - see below for costs. Remember we also have the means of supporting anyone who may struggle to pay for a membership - read on below about the Mike Barlow Memorial Fund.
Adult Membership — £39 per year
Our adult membership runs from 1st April to 31st March.
Your membership gives you access to any Fitmums and Friends club session across our network — you're not limited to attending sessions at your local club. This means you can enjoy the flexibility of joining activities in different locations.
Your membership fee helps us to:
• Provide the kit and equipment needed for our activities
• Pay for venues
• Train and support our volunteers and coaches
• Maintain the infrastructure that keeps the charity running, including our website and online shop
• Continue to develop and support our growing network
The majority of our sessions are led by amazing volunteers, helping us to keep membership affordable while offering a wide range of activities.
England Athletics Affiliation — £23 per person
Adult members can also choose to affiliate to England Athletics.
Affiliation can provide access to discounted entry fees for some races and eligibility to enter certain events.
The current cost is £19 per person. This money does not come to Fitmums and Friends — we simply administer the affiliation on behalf of our members.
Junior Membership — £13 per year
Our junior membership runs from 1st April to 31st March.
There is also a £2.50 session fee, which is paid for the full half-term in advance. For example, for a six-week half term, the session fees would be £15.
This helps us plan our junior activities and cover the costs associated with running them, including venues, equipment and qualified coaching.
Specialist Programmes — Free to attend
We believe that specialist support should be accessible to everyone. Our programmes for people affected by bereavement, menopause and breast cancer are therefore free to participants, with funding sought specifically to help us deliver them.
Many of these programmes are also supported and facilitated by our wonderful volunteers.
While there is no charge to take part, donations are always welcome and help us to maintain and develop these valuable opportunities.
We don't want cost to be a barrier
We understand that finances can sometimes make it difficult to take part. We don't want money to be a barrier to anyone becoming part of Fitmums & Friends.
The Mike Barlow Memorial Fund is available to provide support for people who may otherwise struggle with the cost of membership or taking part. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please get in touch with us confidentially to find out how we may be able to help. See here.
Everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of being active, connected and part of a community.
