The Fitmums & Friends 1-Hour Club Challenge will return on Friday 28 June 2024 at Beverley Rugby Club. It’s a great opportunity for members, family and friends from all our clubs to run, walk and enjoy a fun evening together. Join us!

The Fitmums & Friends 1-Hour Club Challenge challenges each club to gather members, friends and family together to complete as many 1km laps as they can in one hour.

You can do as many or as few laps as you like, running or walking. Every lap will be recorded and added to your club’s total over the course of the hour. Friends and family who join in can choose which club they 'donate' their lap(s) to.

There will also be a 1km fun run which is ideal for children (10 years and under) and anyone wanting just a little leg stretch! Fun run laps will contribute towards club totals so the kids are very important too!

Afterwards, there will be refreshments, and prizes for the winning clubs!

All about the Fitmums & Friends 1-Hour Club Challenge

We last held this event in 2019 and we are thrilled to be bringing it back. Boothferry Fitmums & Friends won the inaugural challenge, with Beverley Fitmums & Friends in second place, and Cottingham Fitmums & Friends coming in third. The wooden spoon went to Dearne Valley Fitmums & Friends, with some stunning double-buggy running!

This year, there will be prizes for the clubs which complete the most laps (calculated as an average per person taking part) and for best club attendance (calculated as a percentage of membership). There may also be a wooden spoon again! Will you help your club to a win…?

Each club sets up its own little camp, so bring your gazebo, blankets, chairs, sun cream (hopefully!) and enjoy this sociable event! The inter-club banter is fun and friendly! And after chalking up some laps for your club, the bar will be open and the barbeque will be lit so you can enjoy a fantastic evening with family and friends.

Timings:

• 5.45pm - number collection opens
• 6.15pm - fun run starts
• 7.00pm - 1-Hour Club Challenge begins
• 8.00pm - end-of-challenge party starts

Entry fees:

• 1-hour Club Challenge: £7.00, including entry and burger/sausage in a bun. (Please note participants must be 11+ years to take part in the 1-hour event.)
• Fun Run (1km): £5.00, including entry, sausage in a bun, and a treat! (Adults who are accompanying children on the fun run do not need to pay an entry fee.)
• Tickets are available in our online shop.
• Entries will be available on the day only if we have not exceeded the entry limit. So please enter in advance if you can and please check before travelling if you are interested in on-the-day entry.
