Let’s Get Going is a supported group walking programme for anyone who is struggling to be active for any reason. It offers 10 weeks of gentle walking sessions, with a focus on ‘walk and talk’, in the company of others in a similar situation. The aim is to help participants feel more connected and supported to become more active. Sessions are suitable for all – men and women, and all abilities.

Let’s Get Going is a 10-week group walking programme for anyone who would like a little support to start being active. The gentle walking sessions are suitable for all abilities and fitness levels.
Participants need to be registered with a Hull GP or have a Hull postcode (this is a requirement of the programme funding). If you do not have a Hull GP or postcode but feel you would benefit from some supportive exercise sessions, please contact us on admin@fitmums.org.uk – we can help in other ways.
Let's Get Going will provide you with a gentle introduction to being more active in a supportive group. The programme aims to help participants experience the mental and physical health benefits of being more active alongside other people in a similar position. We hope that, as happens at our other fitness sessions, friendships will be formed and that you will feel healthier and happier for participating.

Our Let’s Get Going walks are led by trained walk leaders who will make sure that the group stays together and that no one is left behind or on their own. The walking sessions are easy-paced, with a focus on 'walk and talk' (rather than a workout) - so no need to worry!
This programme is free to participants. It also includes free membership of Fitmums & Friends (for the remainder of the membership year) so that you can continue to be active with others at your local club after the programme has finished. If you would like a little extra support to get started at your local club, we have lots of ways we can help with that – just ask us.
